Cottesloe, Claremont, Nedlands and Subiaco have homes dating from the early 1900s through to the 1950s. Many have ornate fibrous plaster ceilings and heritage cornice profiles that need specialist attention rather than a standard patch. Matching period profiles correctly and restrapping without disturbing decorative features takes experience.
Through Floreat, City Beach and Churchlands, homes built in the 1960s and 1970s have fibrous plaster ceilings now well past the original strap lifespan. This is the work we do most in this part of Perth, and the geography shows clearly why the coastal suburbs generate so many restrapping referrals.
Newer homes through North Perth, Mount Hawthorn and Leederville are predominantly gyprock and see a high volume of renovation activity. Post-renovation ceiling work, filling gaps where walls have been removed, and fitting out new cornice after kitchen and bathroom projects are regular jobs for us in the inner belt.

Restrapping, fibrous plaster and heritage
The coastal belt holds the highest concentration of pre-1980 fibrous plaster ceilings in Perth. We install fibreglass straps from the roof space, match period cornice profiles where needed, and leave a paint-ready finish. 10-year warranty on all strap work.
Post-renovation ceiling and cornice work
Renovations in the inner suburbs regularly open ceilings, relocate lights and leave gaps where walls have been removed. We fill, tape, set and sand to match the existing ceiling, and fit new cornice where needed.
Water damage and section replacement
Older coastal homes carry older plumbing. When a leak comes through, we cut back the damaged section, replace the board, tape and sand to match. Heritage homes get the same attention to matching as any other job.
